Sophie Morgan

TV Presenter, Producer, Writer and Advocate

Judges Choice

I’m one of the first and only female wheelchair users to be a TV personality in the UK (and globally). I front the Paralympics, make documentaries such as Dispatches and Unreported World, present live events such as Crufts and have my own prime time travel show as well as a regular panelist on ITV’s Loose Women.

I have recently co-founded a media company called Making Space which launched in August with a first-look deal with Reese Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine with whom I am co-producing a documentary for Channel 4, set to air next year, about my fight for disability rights. It is the first disabled-led company of its kind.

I also recently launched a campaign called Rights On Flights, calling on the UK Government to increase enforcement powers for disabled flyers, to which they have responded and legal reform is imminent. The campaign has gone global and I was invited to visit the White House to discuss how the UK and US can combine forces, with events now being planned in the House of Commons and White House this autumn. RoF plans to revise the legislation on accessible air travel and set a new standard.

Making Space will also be consulting for NBC in the run up to the Paris Paralympics, and I will be training on-air talent.

Additionally, I have a monthly column in Conde Nast Traveller Magazine, writing about accessible travel, and speak globally about the need for accessible tourism.

I’m a global ambassador for various brands and patron of various charities, including Scope and Back Up.

“The disabled community is a force to be reckoned with and being included in the Disability Power 100 is the ultimate motivator.”

I'm a blonde woman in a manual wheelchair, sat on the steps on 10 Downing street holding an envelope and smiling.
