Miss Freddie Stabb

She/Her
Actress and Disability Advocate

Award category:

Performing Arts, Television, Radio

Having worked as an actress for 31 years I have had a consistent career including TV work for Netflix, ITV, Channel 4 and BBC.

My representation for disability is in the roles that I take on, which are often not focused on the disability, but the character. When I started out in the mid 90’s I was advised to get used to rejection but never give up.

Most recently I have been campaigning with Actor at the Centre to return 1a Tower St to actors for training in this unique accessible building, repurposed by 7 Dials Playhouse, which which previously benefited actors across the profession including many disabled artists and lower income actors in maintaining their skills. This has been a devastating loss.

My passion for complete inclusivity within the arts and society is what drives me. I also help recovering addicts to live fuller lives. I hope by living my life, I can encourage disabled people to follow their dreams and never give up.

I’m honoured to be included on the Disability Power 2024, I keep my head down and keep going with passion.
