Ruby Rousson is a queer disabled freelancer, writer, sex worker, and sex educator who runs Arousibility, Parlour Talk, The Ruby Umbrella and always has projects on the go.

Through the Parlour Talk universe, she wants to break down taboos and start conversations about topics shunned and shamed by society. Her biggest project, Arousibility was created to help people become educated about all the nuances involved in sex that aren’t taught in school because sex is not simple. It’s chaotic, messy, and really not straightforward, especially if you or someone you love or want to hook up with, is chronically ill or disabled.

No one with a disability or chronic illness is taught how to have sex, become a business owner, sell pictures on the internet or even figure out how to do the basics like finding a non-painful bra. It’s all a lot of trial and error that can add up – in time, energy and money. Ruby hopes that by sharing all the information she can find (breaking down as many societal taboos as she can along the way), being brutally honest about her own experiences with everything from mental health to the accessibility of sex toys and offering a safe place to explore somewhat unusual questions, the world might be a bit of a better (and more informed) place.
