Ed enjoyed a successful 10-year professional rugby career before suffering a serious spinal cord injury in 2017 that left him fighting for his life.

Told he’d probably only have limited use of hands, let alone walk again; Ed has shown ruthless defiance and focus. Through his sheer hard work, he lives a relatively “normal” life.

Despite his disability, Ed has gone on to summit some seriously challenging mountains, become an ambassador for Berghaus and several charities and is a TV presenter with Channel 4 including for Toyko 2020 Paralympic Games. Ed has also established his own charity ‘Millimetres 2 Mountains’ with aim of using the outdoors and adventure to help others facing similarly challenging situations.

“My life has changed drastically since the accident, in so many ways it has become harder but in time it has also become more interesting, exciting and fulfilling. No matter what the circumstances life is always worth living.”
