Fraser is an eight year old full-time powered wheelchair user living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He has grown up around his parents’ positivity and acceptance of his condition which has had a huge impact to how he sees life – in a good way!

He is the driving force behind Fraser & Friends – an online Facebook community which educates on what life is like living with a disabling rare disease. He has been the face behind many public campaigns and awareness posts highlighting examples of accessibility for his wheelchair, red cords, disabled parking, travelling and the general every day inequalities faced by disabled people.

In 2019 Fraser was awarded a Prime Minister Points of Light for his campaigning and was invited to 10 Downing Street. He has featured many times in local and national media – a Changing Places campaign with the Department for Transport, various articles for The Mirror, The Sun and The Huffington Post, on BBC News highlighting the impact the Covid pandemic had for disabled people and was part of a Britain’s Bravest Children programme for ITV. He can also add mountain climbing to his successes as a few years ago he climbed Snowdon on his Mum’s back!

Fraser is inspiring others into action to bring about positive changes which will make a difference to society. The impact of one little boy should not be underestimated in changing people’s attitudes to disability and seeing the world differently.

“Having a wheelchair means I never have to walk anywhere!”
